Valuable information found in Social Security Death Index
I have recently become involved in doing geneaology and have found a great resource: the Social Security Death Index. Most of my ancestors were immigrants to this country in the large immigration of the early 1900’s. Information on them is sketchy and they, of course, have all passed away. Obtaining information on them to complete my family tree became quite a challenge for me. A friend recently told me about using the Social Security Death Index to find the information that I needed. It has been a wonderful resource for me. I have been able to trace most of the family on my mother’s side back at least four generations and three on my father’s side.
